Battlefield 6 Reveals Season 1 Maps and More
Battlefield 6 has unveiled its Season 1 roadmap, revealing that the three-part season will kick off a few weeks after the game’s launch. One of the most highly anticipated FPS games of this Fall next to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Battlefield 6 saw its record-breaking open beta go live last month, and player sentiment surrounding this latest installment in EA’s storied FPS franchise seems to be extremely high.
Battlefield 2042 didn’t drum up the same amount of hype as its successor Battlefield 6 is currently enjoying. Instead, its post-launch seasons helped turn the game around in the years following its disappointing 2021 launch. The hope with Battlefield 6 is that it’ll serve as a better foundation out the gate so that there’s less pressure on the developers to draw in lapsed players with the post-launch seasons. So far, with the huge amount of hype that came out of the open beta last month, Battlefield 6 seems to be in more than solid shape for launch.
Season 1 of Battlefield 6 Begins on October 28
With less than two weeks to go until Battlefield 6‘s October 10 launch, Battlefield took to Twitter to release the game’s Season 1 roadmap. The season, which is split into three “phases” named Rogue Ops, California Resistance, and Winter Offensive, will begin on October 28. The California Resistance phase kicks off on November 18, and the Winter Offensive follows on December 9. Each of these phases brings a new map, a new mode or event, and a collection of new weapons. As for vehicles, only the initial Rogue Ops phase of Season 1 will add a new armored truck named the Traverser Mark 2.
Battlefield 6 already seems to have its Winter-themed content set in stone with its Winter Offensive phase. This third and final leg of Season 1 brings a new limited-time map called Ice Lock Empire State, which seems to be an iced-over wintry version of Battlefield 6‘s New York City-based launch map that coincides with the phase’s “Ice Lock” event. With each one of these phases lasting three weeks, it can be assumed that Battlefield 6‘s first season will conclude on or around December 30, right before the new year. It’s around this time that Season 2 is expected to get underway.
Battlefield 6 is imminently releasing on October 10 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and fans won’t have to wait too long at all for that first dose of new Season 1 content to go live. By the time its competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releases on November 14, Battlefield 6 will be just days away from its second phase of Season 1, California Resistance. It’ll be interesting to see how both of these FPS juggernauts perform this Fall and holiday season.
