How to Do an Inward Heelflip in Skate
Skate has a staggering amount of tricks to learn, and sometimes you’ll find a challenge that requires you to pull off a trick that you’ve never done before. One such Skate challenge requires you to perform an Inward Heelflip.
Flip tricks are performed with the right analog stick in Skate, but the tutorial only teaches you about the most basic of the bunch, like Kickflips and Pop Shuvits. The rest of the tricks are meant to be discovered naturally while skating through San Vansterdam. If you just want to knock out this Skate 4 challenge, however, here’s how to perform an Inward Heelflip.
How to Perform an Inward Heelflip in Skate 4
An Inward Heelflip is a slightly trickier variation of a basic Heelflip. To pull it off, move the right analog stick downward diagonally toward your skater’s toes. Then, scoop the right stick straight down and flick it upward diagonally back toward your toes as if you were doing a normal flip trick. Adding the downward diagonal bit at the beginning makes this trick a Heelflip.
In order for this trick to count as an Inward Heelflip, you have to do it in the direction that your skater is facing. If you skate goofy, you’ll have to mirror the analog stick movements to the opposite side.
You can also pull this trick off the other way around by inverting the stick movements and starting with an upward flick. That’ll make it a Nollie Inward Heelflip, which will still count for any challenges the game gives you. It can be tough to get the movements down, so find a nice open spot to practice until you’ve nailed it.
Inward Heelflips are a great way to rack up points to complete challenges throughout San Van, and they’re also specifically required to complete Trick of the Day challenges and other tasks in Skate 4. Familiarize yourself with the analog stick motions in a safe spot so you can prepare for more dangerous jumps later in the game.
